When I was sixteen years old, I became fascinated by the idea of architecture and the design of buildings. At that time, I began to draw my own structures by hand. I loved creating new, beautiful buildings on paper. However, as a young, amateur, student of architecture, I focused wholly on the aesthetics of a structure and believed that this was what architecture was all about.

Studying architecture at university changed the way that I thought about the field.I learned to view architecture as a holistic creation that brought together the concrete structures in which we live and work with the culture, personality, and occupations of the people. Beyond the simple aesthetic appeal of a building or structure, I learned to integrate the lives and tasks of people into its design.

To this day I still enjoy drawing, however before I design a structure I attempt to understand the people who will inhabit it. By getting to know their needs I am more easily able to deliver a concept in which they feel comfortable and will be more effective. I grew up with a desire to advance my understanding of architecture and to become a successful architect. I believe I have come a long way, but still have a strong will to continue to learn, to improve my skills and understanding, and to increase my level of experience, in both academic and professional settings. To put it simply, I would like to continue to pursue my passion for architecture.
